Hi! We're Kavitha & Kester. We're so happy you're here.
We're a therapist couple and founders of SACRED®—a platform where you can learn modern relationship skills.

Relationships are the single biggest predictor of your health and happiness.
This was what the longest study ever done on happiness found! The Harvard study, which has been tracking the same people since 1938—found that the quality of your relationships is the strongest predictor of long-term health and happiness, not money or career success.
Â
So if relationships matter this much, why do so many of us struggle with them?
Â
Because many people think good relationships just happen naturally. And if you have bad relationships, it's just your bad luck.
Â
But from our experience, building secure, strong relationships require skills, like communicating well, understanding yourself, and staying calm.
Â
The good news is: anyone can learn these skills. So anyone can build great relationships—it's not luck!
That's where SACRED® comes in.
We're a Singapore-based relationship education platform, and we believe in something radical:
Â
Teaching relationship skills BEFORE problems explode.Â
Â
Our mission is simple: To make relationship skills accessible to everyone.
Â
We teach you the practical, evidence-based skills to create healthier connections across every area of your life: romantic partnerships, friendships, family relationships, and workplace dynamics.

Rebels-at-heart who broke away from societal expectations to build something authentic
They Rejected Hustle Culture Before It Was Cool: While their peers were climbing corporate ladders, Kester and Kavitha chose meaning over money, authenticity over approval. They understand what it's like to break away from society's definition of success.
They Built Resilience the Hard Way: Their marriage wasn't Instagram-perfect. They had intense conflicts that pushed them to understand the root causes of human suffering. They didn't pretend everything was fine—they did the work to heal themselves and their relationship.
They Created an Authentic Partnership: Instead of falling into traditional gender roles or functional relationship patterns, they built something based on true authenticity. They learned that individuality and deep connection can coexist—you don't have to lose yourself to love someone.
They Discovered What You're Seeking: That true healing happens in relationships, not isolation. That you can honour tradition while staying true to yourself. That meaningful work and deep relationships aren't mutually exclusive.
Their Professional Journey
As partners in life and work, they trained in various therapy and counselling methods to heal themselves first. When they focused on helping others, they worked with hundreds of clients and educated thousands more through public initiatives.
Â
But here's what they discovered: Many people found healing in therapy but still struggled to build supportive relationships in everyday life. People craved deeper connections but lacked the practical tools to create them.
Â
This insight birthed SACRED—because relationships, like all things sacred, require intention and nurturing, not just hope and luck.
Â
SACRED® Institute is a Singapore-based relationship education platform created by therapist couple Kavitha and Kester Shekar-Tay.
